A night for the community
Soul of my soul takes its name from the viral video of a grandfather from Palestine who lost his granddaughter during the genocide that began on October 7th. Thus, the night was filled with various souls, living and breathing the same air under the same roof. Soul of my soul acted as a community gathering on a creative ground that used art as a medium to raise voices for the muted and bring together a necessity for connection. The value of creativity was apparent with a reminder of what art is for: telling ones identity, affirming one's identity and a tool for expression. In this intimate setting, a total of $3,500.43 was raised which is now equally distributed and donated to the following charities: The PCRF, Congo Friends, and The Sudanese American Physicians.
An array of artists were involved who offered to sell prints of their artworks in exchange for a donation to one of the charities aiding the people of Palestine, Congo and Sudan.
